Condiments should be a vehicle for flavor that enhances the foods they are served with, as well as a source of valuable nutrients when possible. They should not contain harmful ingredients. Why not work on eliminating and replacing the typical condiments full of fake additives and empty-calorie ingredients (as in most brand-name catsups and many veggie dips)?

The recipe to the left is a simple, yet tasty dip - it's terrific for dipping raw veggies or adding a dollop to a baked potato!

You'll find many additional Condiment recipes in my book, The Healing Power of Whole Foods, Revised 2nd Edition. There's a "Perfectly Whole" Catsup recipe to substitute for the popular high-fructose-corn- syrup-laden catsup that is actually 1/3 corn syrup! There are recipes for  various sauces (including a Simple Pan Sauce that makes use of flavorful drippings left from cooking meat and chicken). Also, you'll benefit from the many dressing recipes, additional dips, and detailed Bone Broth directions!

  • 24 oz carton of sour cream, regular or light
  • 4 Tbsp Frontier Garlic & Herb Seasoning Blend
  • 1 tsp granulated garlic
  • ½ tsp unrefined salt

Stir together, cover, and let sit in the refrigerator for at least 8 hours so dried seasonings can rehydrate and flavors blend.  Serve with raw veggies.
